Top 5 Social Apps in UAE: Q3 2024 Performance Overview

Throughout the third quarter of 2024, social apps in the United Arab Emirates have shown varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user engagement. Using data from Sensor Tower, we delve into the trends for each of the top five social apps.

TikTok saw fluctuations in its weekly revenue, which peaked at around $1.1M in early July and again at the end of September. The app's downloads witnessed a slight decline over the quarter, starting at approximately 89K and ending at about 71K. However, weekly active users remained robust, ranging between 6.7M and 7.1M throughout the quarter.

Facebook maintained stable weekly revenue, hovering around $23K to $31K, with a noticeable peak in early September. Its download numbers showed a gradual decline, starting from 61K and dropping to around 50K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users ranged consistently around 7.4M.

Instagram experienced a steady revenue stream, with weekly figures fluctuating between $58K and $99K. Download numbers were relatively stable, starting at 63K and ending at 54K. Active user numbers showed minor fluctuations, staying between 2.7M and 2.8M throughout the quarter.

Threads, despite having no recorded revenue, showed an increase in downloads from 37K to 50K by the end of September. Weekly active users saw a decline over the period, starting at 580K and dropping to approximately 365K by the end of the quarter.

MOI UAE did not generate revenue but maintained a steady download rate, starting at 17K and ending at 17K. Active user figures remained stable, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, ranging from 65K to 68K.
